National Chung Cheng University organized “Higher Education Forum in Asia: Changing University Ideas and Patterns” on 19-20 January 2017 in Taipei, Taiwan. The forum is organized in collaboration with HEEACT. Over 30 honorable higher education scholars including representatives from 8 countries attended this forum. The forum was also attended by 5 representatives from the Ministry of Education, Department of International and Cross-strait Education.

The higher education forum was the first event collaboration of National Chung-Cheng University and HEEACT, both came together in good spirit to share and discover the trends in higher education. The presentations made by each speaker covered various aspects in higher education: from universities’ purposes and services to quality assurance and to cross-border collaboration, and also acted as a reminder for our duties in student learning. Each rooted and influential in higher education, the scholars discussed questions asked by others and pointed out impending challenges.

Everyone at the forum played a crucial role in higher education. As organizers, we hope these events can bring together people cross nations to enhance higher education quality in for students and the society.
