HEEACT Strengthens Global Quality Assurance Connections at the 2026 AACSB Asia Pacific Accreditation Conference

In June 2026, a delegation from the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) participated in the AACSB Asia Pacific Accreditation Conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The visit strengthened HEEACT’s engagement with the international business education and quality assurance community and created an opportunity to examine global developments in discipline-specific accreditation across diverse contexts.

AACSB International is a global membership association and specialized accreditor dedicated to advancing quality in business education. Its international network connects business schools, educators, and organizations and promotes mission-driven, continuous improvement. Taiwan is currently home to 36 AACSB member schools, 30 of which have earned AACSB accreditation, reflecting the strong engagement of Taiwanese business schools with international quality standards.

The conference gave HEEACT practical ideas on student learning outcomes, teaching effectiveness, societal impact, and the responsible use of technology. It also showed how evidence-based evaluation can support improvement while allowing institutions to respond to their own missions and local contexts. HEEACT will use these ideas when reviewing its quality assurance frameworks and standards.

HEEACT also plans to apply what it learned to capacity-building for higher education institutions and reviewers. It will maintain exchanges with international and discipline-specific quality assurance organizations, share Taiwan’s experience, and consider how relevant practices from abroad might be adapted to Taiwan’s higher education context.
