The Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Institute of Accreditation for Economics, Management, Business and Accounting Programs (Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Ekonomi, Manajemen, Bisnis, dan Akuntansi, LAMEMBA) of Indonesia, formally establishing cooperation between the two agencies.

LAMEMBA is Indonesia's independent accreditation agency for study programs in economics, management, business, and accounting. Both agencies work to ensure that higher education institutions meet high standards and keep improving, and each brings its own national experience to that task.

For HEEACT, the agreement adds Indonesia to its circle of quality assurance partners in Southeast Asia. Quality assurance systems in the region differ in structure and scope, and direct exchange between agencies is one of the most practical ways to understand those differences and learn from them.

The MOU provides a framework for the two agencies to share information and experience in quality assurance. HEEACT and LAMEMBA will build on this foundation to identify areas where closer cooperation can benefit both sides. HEEACT thanks LAMEMBA for its partnership and is confident that this cooperation will benefit quality assurance practice in both Taiwan and Indonesia.
