On 2 October 2026, a delegation from the Center for Education Accreditation, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (CEA-VNUHCM) visited HEEACT. The delegation was led by Vice-Director Ms. Ho Dac Hai Mien. HEEACT and the Taiwan Medical Accreditation Council (TMAC) jointly hosted the meeting. HEEACT Executive Director Dr. Kuang-Chao Yu welcomed the guests.

CEA-VNUHCM signed a memorandum of understanding with HEEACT in 2022. The purpose of this visit was to learn from TMAC’s experience and practice in WFME recognition. Dr. Tai-Lung Cha, Executive Officer of TMAC, shared how TMAC prepared for and obtained WFME recognition. He also introduced how TMAC carries out medical education accreditation in practice.

The visit extended the exchange between HEEACT and CEA-VNUHCM from institutional and programme accreditation to medical education. TMAC’s experience also offers a reference for agencies in the region that are working toward WFME recognition. HEEACT will continue to support exchanges between accreditation agencies in Taiwan and Vietnam.
