Gender Equity Training—Online Program & Test

At the request of the government, each employee was required to complete the gender equity training. The online training was followed by a test to reinforce learning and internalize the knowledge delivered by the online program.

Environmental Education—Online Program & Test

The annual environmental education of HEEACT is usually conducted out-door. Due to the pandemic of COVID-19, the environmental education in 2022 was conducted via an online program. All the employees were required to watch the educational film as this is a mandatory training at the request of the government to improve civic awareness of sustainable development and environmental protection.

Information Security Training—Online Program & Test

As information technology makes our lives more convenient, it is significant and fundamental for us to always pay attention to the data privacy and possible information breaches especially when it comes to confidential information. Through real-life cases, Consultant Alex Wu specifically elaborated on what we can do to safeguard the data and computer system against information breaches and cyber threats.

Systematic Thinking and Project Management

 

During the session, Prof. Dr. Yang pointed out that we are currently living in a world of disruptive innovation. Everything is complicated and a slight change could affect everything. The problem solving process is similar to the process of managing projects, and efficiency is the key to success. We need to develop a mindset utilizing systematic thinking and approaches.

Application of Computer Skills—LibreOffice: Writer & Calc

 

Due to the government policy, it is recommended that all the public-related sectors shall integrate the application of LibreOffice, a free and open source software. LibreOffice is a professional editing tool that enables users to edit, add texts, and more to enhance productivity. Mr. Huang thoroughly explained all the functions within the software. In order to increase the efficiency and comply with the policy, all HEEACT staff have received this computer skill training.

Emotion Management—Mindfulness & Self-Awareness

Life could be very stressful and overwhelming at work or in private. To support all the employees’ mental health, the session was specifically arranged. Ms. Li demonstrated several strategies that could be adopted when we experience tough time in life or at work. It helped us manage our emotions to stay focused though practicing mindfulness and self-awareness.
