HEEACT renews MOU with JUAA
The Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) and the Japan University Accreditation Association (JUAA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2013 for the first time, and renewed it in May 2016.
To continue and strengthen future cooperation, HEEACT and JUAA renewed the MoU in 2021, with the signatures of Prof. Dr. Fu-Hsing Lu, Executive Director of HEEACT and Dr. Kyosuke Nagata, President of JUAA.
JUAA, a voluntary organization of higher education institutions, was established in 1947 with 46 initial member institutions which include national, local public and private universities. The mission of JUAA is to promote the qualitative improvement of higher education institutions in Japan through the voluntary efforts and mutual assistance of member institutions and to contribute to international cooperation such as educational and research activities in higher education institutions.
HEEACT and JUAA agree through the MOU to cooperate for the benefit of both parties and to work towards enhancing external quality assurance in both jurisdictions and improving the quality of higher education in Taiwan and Japan, and the internationalization of both systems.
