The Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) and the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2018 for the first time.
To continue and strengthen future cooperation, HEEACT and TEQSA renewed the MoU in October 2021, with the signatures of Prof. Dr. Fu-Hsing Lu, Executive Director of HEEACT and Mr. Alistair Maclean, CEO of TEQSA.

TEQSA was established under the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act) as the national regulator for Australia’s higher education sector. TEQSA’s functions are set out in section 134 of the TEQSA Act. TEQSA is also an ESOS Agency responsible for higher education courses, foundation programs and some ELICOS under the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000.

HEEACT and TEQSA agree through the MOU to cooperate for the benefit of both parties and to work towards enhancing external quality assurance in both jurisdictions and improving the quality of higher education, and the internationalization of both systems.
