HEEACT renewed MoA with Mongolian National Council for Education Accreditation (MNCEA)

The Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) and the Mongolian National Council for Education Accreditation (MNCEA) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in November 2018 for the first time.To continue and strengthen future cooperation, HEEACT and MNCEA renewed the MoA in 2022, with the signatures of Prof. Dr. Fu-Hsing Lu, Executive Director of HEEACT and Dr. Yanjmaa Ochirbat, Director of the Secretariat of MNCEA. Both agencies participated in a virtual signing ceremony on 3rd March, 2022. 

The Mongolian National Council for Education Accreditation is the core accreditation organization with public representations and governmental officials. Legal frameworks for national accreditation system were officially established during 1995 – 1998 and consequently, the council started the quality assurance activities at the national level starting 1998. Since the council accredited the first higher education institution in 1999, it has received and reviewed about 350 requests for accreditation submitted by tertiary education institutions and accredited 120 higher education institutions (in geminated statistics) having appointed 814 external evaluators at 293 institutions in total and finally, discussed via the MNCEA meeting. 

HEEACT and MNCEA agree through the MoA to cooperate for the benefit of both parties and to work towards enhancing external quality assurance in both jurisdictions and improving the quality of higher education in Taiwan and Mongolia, and the internationalization of both systems.
