Second Session of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Forum
HEEACT periodically hosts the "Higher Education Quality Assurance Forum" to establish a platform for dialogue between universities and quality assurance agencies. The objective of the discussion is to drive continuous improvement in the quality of higher education in Taiwan and to inspire innovative and pragmatic strategies for quality assurance.
The second session of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Forum series, titled “Discussion of Student Learning and Outcomes through the Perspectives of Institutional Accreditation," was successfully concluded on Friday December 6 2024. This session focused on critical issues related to student learning observed during institutional accreditation, focusing on three main aspects: student support system for interdisciplinary learning, internationalization of higher education and the current methods of learning outcome analysis. The discussions underscored the importance of leveraging resources, such as financial support, to ensure institutional sustainability while adapting to a rapidly-evolving global environment.
All in all, it is crucial for higher education leaders to identify their strengths and challenges and to proactively develop strategies to enhance institutional competitiveness. It is equally important to foster a dynamic and adaptable learning environment for students that meets the demands of a globalized and interdisciplinary-focused educational landscape.
