Goal
The Yushan Scholar Porgram aims to assist various universities and colleges (hereafter, universities) in recruiting top international scholars to teach in Taiwan by providing internationally competitive salaries and thus expand international academic capacity in Taiwan’s academic environment and enhance the international influence of Taiwan’s higher education.
About Yushan Scholar Program

i. A Yushan scholar is a scholar who meets one of the following requirements:
1.Has worked at a leading international research institution or an internationally renowned company for at least 10 years, has an international academic reputation or international cutting-edge expertise in a core technology, and has experience in leading an academic or industrial research team
2.Is a Nobel Prize winner, is a fellow of a national-level academy, is a fellow of a major international association, or has received some equivalent recognition
3.Has made an outstanding contribution to the area of his or her academic expertise during the past 5 years

ii. A Yushan young scholar is a scholar who was granted his or her highest education diploma during the past 10 years and meets one of the following requirements:
1.Has worked at a leading international research institution or an international renowned company for at least 5 years and has development potential
2.Has experience in conducting major research projects
3.Has made an exceptional contribution to the area of his or her academic expertise during the past 5 years
Yushan scholars and Yushan young scholars may not be current full-time employees at universities or academic research institutions in Taiwan (not including project-based employees) and may not apply for subsidies (flexible salaries) provided by the Ministry of Education (MOE).
